This beautiful coral tree is one of many in the area I live in. They flower during winter, and their large bright flowers are loved by birds, especially sun birds. This painting is from daily observations of the sun birds drinking the sap from the large orange/red/ dark red and pink flowers. The sunbirds are colourful birds too and together they create a riot of colour that has to be painted
